Up for your consideration, a nearly new 2017 Specialized Tarmac Pro Di2 dream machine in a 56cm frame size. (Best for male riders 5' 10" - 6' 0") This 15.9lb bike is in fabulous condition with an excellent maintenance history and just one prior owner. From tip to tail this bike is tip top! And the factory component specification on this bike is the smartest "bang for the buck" available in my opinion. Historically the Specialized "Pro" level bikes are made from the same molds as Specialized top of the line S-Works bikes but without their astronomical price jump.

The carbon layup is slightly different making for a 100 gram heavier frame but with that comes a smoother ride. Historically Tarmac Pro owners are stunned by this bike's performance envelope. This is a bike that makes good riders great and great riders, well, gone.

This bike is nearly the same as the companys S-Works Tarmac, a Tour de France level ride, but made from a slightly heavier material. The Tarmac Pro frame offers many of the same frame features.

Reworking the head-tube and down-tube profiles, for example, lets the bike use a slightly smaller and lighter size specific lower headset bearing on the tapered carbon steerer tube then the previous models 1 1/2 lower bearing. With this revision, the bikes aerodynamics improved without giving up any front-end stiffness. The Tarmac Pro's internal cable routing is aero and clean. All the technical details add up to create an amazing performer but it's also a beautifully clean design. Even the graphics are beautiful being both stealth and racy. The all carbon, Specialized FACT monocoque fork is on the cutting edge of current bicycle design. The bearings at the top of the fork are the industry standard 1 1/8" but the bearing size increases at the bottom to 1 3/8" at the lower end of the headtube. This spreads forces over a greater area and increases front-end accuracy. But this larger, lower bearing race isn't located where most would be. It is placed higher up on the headtube inline with the down tube to minimize front end deflection. This means this bike has some of the most accurate steering you will ever experience with minimal deviation from it's intended path. This is an extraordinary frameset matched only by the outstanding Shimano 11-speed Ultegra electronic drivetrain. (Both are included with bike) This crankset cuts rotating weight as well as has smart mid-compact 52/36t gearing. This gearing solves the issue I have with the ever popular 50/34t compact gearing, that being the gearing is too short for real performance riding.

This gearing is great for sprinting as well as climbing. The cranks themselves are some of the lightest cranks on the market. Hollow carbon arms and a monocoque design help explain why this bikes is so light. Shimano Ultegra dual pivot brakes front and rear are controlled by Shimano Ultegra brake/shift lever combo.

Derailleurs are Ultegra 11-speed front and rear while the awesome wheelset is Specialized Roval Rapide CL 40 carbon clinchers wrapped in Continental Grand Prix 4000 25c rubber. Specialized bars, stem, seatpost and Body Geometry Toupe saddle round out the control room. One thing about a bike such as this... You can no longer blame the equipment for your poor performance. This is a pure speed machine with few peers.

A Shimano Di2 charger, extra crankset spider, derailleur hanger, bar wrap and brake hood are included with the sale. Pedals however are not included as I figure most serious riders already have a favorite pedal system. The bikes condition is outstanding. Mechanically it is in perfect condition... The chain, cassette, and chain-rings were just replaced 500 miles ago so this bike is very fresh and needs nothing.

Cosmetically there is just a couple marks to the bike from normal use but otherwise it looks terrific in the flesh. I can see a couple paint chips...

One on the top tube, one on the front fork leg and one on the downtube... Otherwise the paint looks untouched. The bike has never been dropped or crashed and only some lite marks to the rear derailleur can be seen likely from leaning the bike up against walls and such. Crankset have some light marks but no noticeable heal rub. Bar wrap is in excellent condition as are the tires and saddle.

Wheels are dead true and the bike brakes, shifts and attacks corners just as a new bike would. I'd estimate mileage at around 3000 total miles.

The frame is a 56cm. Effective top tube length is 56.5cm. The bikes reach, as measured from the center point of the seat post to the center point of where the stem clamps the handlebars is 27.5. The stand over height is 31 inches.

Recommended rider height would be between 5' 10 and 6' although shorter and taller riders may fit depending upon body type. Don't ask, the request will be denied. It all depends upon that weeks work load. So please be patient as we do our best to get the bikes out as quickly as possible to their new owners as we know how exciting it is getting one of the beautiful machines. To clarify these policies and time periods I can tell you the following....

All bikes are packed using new packing materials. These include the installation of plastic fork supports to keep the front fork from penetrating the bottom of the box and dérailleur side load supports and axle shields to keep the axle of the wheels from penetrating the side of the box. This ensures that the bike will make it to it's destination.

Lastly the box is sealed with industrial box staples to keep the load securely enclosed. They will deny the claim for the simplest of reasons.

That is why we cover all the bases. Packing of a bicycle takes a significant block of time if done correctly.
